**If you were not brought here as a child, what brought you to the area:** Grew up in Aurora, so Canby had everything we needed!

**Profession:** CEO of the Canby Area Chamber

**Other professions:** Graphic Designer, Marketing & Event Guru & Candle Maker

**Favorites:** The beach, the woods and my family

**Movie/and or Musical:** BOTH!

**Actress and Actor:** Emma Thompson & Henry Cavill

**TV show:** Anything renovation, mystery, or action

**Book:** The Secret Garden 

**Type of Music:** All types – I love a bit of everything 

**Food:** Best enjoyed with friends & family! 

**Hobbies:** reading, crafting & cooking 

**If offered a dream vacation, where would you go, and why:** Germany - for the history, my family roots, and to drive on the Autobahn! I love to drive, and love fast cars!

**Best lesson learned as a child:** An opossum really does “play dead.” Never assume.

**Defining moment in your life or your greatest accomplishment:** Being able to move back home (Oregon), purchase a house with my husband and live close to family again.

**A memorable dinner:** TAO Downtown NYC - Miso Roasted Chilean Sea Bass 

**A funny moment from your life that you can share:** Growing up, we were fortunate enough to have property where my father could hunt and get an elk each year. Whenever we needed hamburger, I just went to the freezer, and magically, it was always there. Fast-forward to my first year of college in Los Angeles. I was asked to pick up the meat for burgers, so I went to the grocery store and asked the clerk if they carried elk meat. You can imagine the look on his face! I was completely stumped and finally had to confess that I had no idea what other kind of meat you would use for hamburgers. That was the day I learned cows were used for more than just milk.

**If you could invite anyone (past or present) to dinner, who would it be, and why:** Julia Child. She was a whirlwind of delight, and I know we would be laughing uncontrollably while eating fabulous food!

**Describe yourself in one word:** Connector

**When you're not reading the Canby Chronicle, what book/author/magazine/other do you read:** Usually a good mystery or historical fiction—anything that lets me disappear into another world for a while.

**If your life were made into a play or movie, what would the title be:** Plot Twist!

**Pet peeve:** Loud chewing.

**Bad habit you’d like to break:** Saying “I can do that!” before checking my calendar.

**Famous person(s) you have met, and the circumstances:** Pierce Brosnan. I had pulled into the wrong parking structure at MGM in Los Angeles, and he graciously stopped traffic so I could back out and get to the correct lot!

**Favorite quote:** “A rising tide lifts all boats.”

**Favorite part of the Canby Chronicle:** Reading about the people, businesses and stories that make Canby so special!
