It’s time once again for downtown Canby to transform into a giant dance floor! This year’s Big Night Out Street Dance is scheduled for Friday, August 28th from 5 to 10 p.m. All of your favorite activities and local vendors are back, along with a lineup of talented musicians playing a joyful repertoire of tunes perfect for getting groovy with your family, friends, and neighbors!

To kick off the evening, Radio Riots will take the stage from 5 to 7 p.m. This five-piece classic rock band plays all the popular covers, so join the crowd and sing along! Then, from 7 to 8 p.m., Paradise Of Samoa, the Polynesian Dance Troupe, makes its exciting return. “The fire dancing always draws a big crowd,” says Tyler Nizer, Economic & Tourism Development Coordinator for the City of Canby. “It’s an incredible performance you won’t want to miss.” Brandon Jones is the headliner, one of the Midwest’s premier entertainers, who has shared the stage with legends such as Clint Black and Sawyer Brown. He’ll be performing from 8 to 10 p.m., with a rugged voice and the best country covers, along with an unmatched stage presence you’ll surely remember if you attended last year!

The center of the free celebration, including the main stage and dance floor, is at the intersection of N. Grant and N.W. Second Avenue, but the festivities extend a full block in every direction. This highly anticipated event features fun for all ages! In addition to dancing, you’ll find multiple bouncy houses, arts and crafts, a clown who makes balloon animals, face painting, and an electronic blow-up bull-riding arena!

Downtown businesses stay open late for the event and run vendor booths, so visitors can enjoy soft-serve from Cones, sweet treats from B’s Bake Shoppe, barbecue and adult beverages from Ebner’s, adult beverages from Backstop Bar & Grill, Oregon City Brewing, and FOB Taproom, and more! It’s a night full of laughs and community camaraderie, from the Ellison Team Homes Dunk Tank to cornhole games with the Canby Rebels softball team.

Canby’s Big Night Out Street Dance always draws big crowds, both locals and out-of-town visitors. The energy at this unforgettable evening is truly impossible to describe — it’s like a giant block party where you and your squad can join the whole community for an array of local vendors and delightful activities. It’s also the official start of Canby’s Big Weekend, which includes Cutsforth’s Cruise-In on Saturday, August 29th, and both the Swan Island Dahlia Festival and the Basil & Art Festival at Flower Farmer will be going all weekend! It’s the perfect time to get out and enjoy everything our little corner of Oregon has to offer.
