A curated collection of curios is now accessible for Canby citizens.

Willow Creek Antiques Furniture & Home Decor, owned by Danielle Goode, celebrated its ribbon-cutting with the Canby Chamber of Commerce on September 4.

Located at 442 S.E. 9th Ave., the store is home to 10 unique vendors bringing in fabulous wares, as well as Goode’s handpicked selections.

“My family came from Ohio. My mom's side, and they did a lot of antiquing, so I started young,” Goode said. “I’d go back there and visit them, and we would go to auctions, and then we would turn around and sell our stuff at flea markets.”

Goode said the auctions and abundance of antiques in Ohio gave her an early introduction to the business.

“So I would earn all my vacations in the back,” she said. “They have auctions back there, like we have garage sales out here.”

Goode eventually went to nursing school and worked as a nurse before becoming a mom and returning to her interest in antiques. Now, Goode has lived in Canby for 10 years.

“I started a little store with a vintage house with my aunt in Oregon City,” Goode said. “We took an old historical house and we created a little store.”

The Canby location has a different vibe, because she said she wanted something larger and closer to her house.

“I wanted a big warehouse look,” Goode said. “I want that vintage feel, and I needed the space to bring in big furniture, roll it in and out, doors flat, easy access, all that.”

The store features antiques, new furniture, linens, candles, seasonal items and home decor. Some furniture can also be ordered.

“We have candles that are locally done. They're essential oil and soy,” Goode said. “We're going to have a vendor in here that does baked goods and pickled jarred items. We have antiques. We have new furniture as well that people are ordering, we have linens, kind of everything to create your house.”

Goode said she found many of her vendors online by looking for people whose styles and inventory fit the store. Some vendors also followed her from her previous store.

Vendors currently come from communities including Silverton, Newberg, Oregon City, and Milwaukie.

As for her favorite finds, Goode has a top choice.

“I love buffets. They can be really pretty, and they can have a lot of detail and decorative parts to them,” she said. “Mirrors are probably my second-favorite thing.”

Willow Creek is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. The store is also on Instagram @willowcreekcanby.

“I want to be open every day, at least for a little bit, so that people can shop,” Goode said. “They don't have to worry about are (we) going to be closed a certain day of the week.”
